Korea's spine specialty hospital group, licensed since 2025 for advanced regenerative medicine.
Nanoori opened in September 2003 in Nonhyeon-dong and has grown into a four-hospital group, with the founding Gangnam branch on Eonju-ro still the flagship. Spine is the identity here rather than a sideline: Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare has designated it a Spine Specialty Hospital for five consecutive terms, most recently in January 2024, and it holds ministry accreditation through December 2027. It opened a Spine Endoscopy Center in 2025, has run seven spine endoscopy symposia since 2016, and partnered academically with Stanford University Medical Center from 2005. Its International Healthcare Center had treated 12,113 foreign patients as of June 2025, with coordinators working in English, Russian and Mongolian. The regenerative side is real but narrower than the hospital's size might suggest, and it is worth knowing the shape of it before travelling. In May 2025 the Ministry of Health and Welfare designated the Gangnam and Juan branches as Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institutions, the licence a Korean hospital must hold before it may carry out advanced regenerative cell therapy or research. What the hospital publishes on its own treatment menu, though, is joint-focused: an autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate injection for knee osteoarthritis at โฉ2,800,000, a stem cell cartilage regeneration procedure delivered into microfractured cartilage, and PRP. For the spine itself the published regenerative options are prolotherapy, epidural neuroplasty and disc decompression rather than cell therapy. Founder Il Tae Jang, a neurosurgeon, had performed over 8,000 spine operations by 2004 and introduced Korea's first bone cement procedure in 1997.
