Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center is a stand-alone stem cell practice with clinics in Manhattan and Leawood, Kansas. It was started in 2014 by John Farley and Ken Woods, two men from the cattle business who had nine knee surgeries between them and went looking for something other than more surgery. KRMC marked its tenth anniversary in March 2024 and said it had treated more than 4,000 patients by then. Andrew Pope, MD, a board-certified family physician who also runs his own direct primary care clinic in Manhattan, is medical director for both sites. James Sigler, MD, board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in sports medicine, sees patients on the Kansas City side. The clinic works only with a patient's own cells. Fat is taken in a liposuction-style harvest that runs about 30 minutes under local anesthetic, or marrow is aspirated, and the sample is concentrated in the on-site lab into stromal vascular fraction. Platelet-rich plasma drawn from the patient's blood the same morning is sometimes added. Collection through deployment takes roughly 2 to 4 hours in one visit, and the cells go into a joint, into a vein, or into soft tissue under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance depending on what is being treated. KRMC states plainly that it does not use embryonic, umbilical-cord, amniotic or any other donor-derived product. Most of the caseload is orthopedic, covering knees, shoulders, hips, backs, hands and feet. Alongside that the clinic runs named programmes for autoimmune disease, listing lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative arthropathy, fibromyalgia, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's; for neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy and spinal cord injury; and for cardiac and pulmonary conditions including COPD, emphysema and heart failure. KRMC says autoimmune cases in particular may be advised to have a series of deployments rather than a single one. None of this is FDA-approved and the clinic describes all of it as investigational, run under Institutional Review Board oversight through the International Cell Surgical Society with outcome data collected for research.

He began treating patients with adult adipose stem cells through KRMC in 2014 and is now medical director for both Kansas sites. He also volunteers at the local free health clinic.
