About PrimeHealth Denver

PrimeHealth is a single clinic in Lakewood, on the western edge of the Denver metro, run by the two people who founded it in 2018: Soyona Rafatjah, a board-certified family medicine physician who came from Parsley Health in New York, and Luke Schmidt, who handles the business side. The care team is small, ten people, and mixes an MD with physician associates, nurse practitioners, a registered dietitian and a health coach. The model is membership rather than per-visit. You start with a free 20-minute call, then a 90-minute first appointment, then a wide panel of functional lab testing that they deliberately take up to three weeks to process. Their reasoning, stated on their own FAQ, is that ordering fewer tests would be faster but would tell them less. From there you sit on one of two care plans, Foundations or Optimize and Thrive, both of which bundle provider visits, a written plan, messaging access and unlimited use of the infrared sauna at the clinic. What they actually work on is gut, thyroid, hormones and autoimmunity. The digestive side is the biggest piece and leans toward IBS and SIBO rather than the more severe inflammatory bowel diagnoses, though Crohn's and ulcerative colitis are on their list. The autoimmune page covers Hashimoto's, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS and celiac. Hormonal work spans perimenopause, PCOS, low testosterone and prostate health, and bioidentical hormone therapy and peptide therapy are used where indicated. There is a separate Women's Health Group Program that runs as eight group sessions. Two practical things to know. Insurance is not accepted at all, by choice, and they say so bluntly. And only three days a week are in person: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Lakewood, with Monday and Friday run virtually for Colorado patients. PrimeHealth does no stem cell, exosome or PRP work, and does not offer vitamin IV drips despite what some third-party directory listings claim.
