About Nucellin Orthopedic Clinic

Nucellin sits on the fourth floor of a building in Hannam-dong, on the Yongsan side of Seoul rather than in the Gangnam clinic belt where most of the city's regenerative medicine is clustered. It is a single-doctor practice built around Kim Hee-jun, who spent his hospital years as a clinical professor of joint surgery at Yonsei University Severance Hospital before opening here. The daily work is ordinary orthopedics: ultrasound-guided joint injections, nerve blocks, prolotherapy, shockwave, and supervised rehabilitation for knees, shoulders, backs and feet. The regenerative side sits on top of that rather than replacing it. Kim works with bone marrow and fat-derived mesenchymal cells alongside PRP, for knee osteoarthritis, meniscus wear, tendon injuries, partial ligament sprains and chronic synovitis, and he screens on imaging before agreeing to any of it. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and hyperbaric oxygen are in the same rooms, so rehabilitation is not outsourced to another address. What the clinic is known for among foreign residents and visitors is language. The consultation, the procedure and the follow-up all happen in English, and enquiries come in over WhatsApp rather than a Korean booking system. The site publishes a recovery timeline instead of a before-and-after gallery: swelling settles over the first fortnight, pain usually starts easing between weeks three and six, strength work follows, and whatever improvement is coming has generally arrived by three to six months.

consult to quote

Nothing is published. The clinic quotes after it has looked at your imaging, because the figure moves with which cells are used, how many sites are treated, and whether rehabilitation is bundled in. It tells international patients its pricing is disclosed up front, so get the quote in writing and check it covers the imaging, the procedure and the follow-up visits rather than the injection alone.

Pricing is indicative and set by each clinic. Confirm the final cost directly before treatment.

Experience

I cannot recommend the Nucellin Clinic highly enough. Dr. Kim, and his highly accomplished physiotherapists, as well as other staff, were professional, experienced and highly effective in resolving debilitating pain I have experienced for many years. My experience with the clinic and its professional staff was rewarding in every respect. I have since returned for further treatments with the same satisfying results and will be going back again to address overall health and wellness.

Experience

DO NOT go to this clinic as an international client. Nucellin Clinic in Seoul charged me much more than what they verbally quoted. I had less than 2 mins with the actual doctor. There was an English speaking agent, she pulled me out of the doctor's cabin saying she will handle me and they asked me to do bunch of surgeries. I asked her what the procedure and cost would be but she could not explain. When I told her I'm looking for rehab and exercises she got upset and angry.

Experience

During my recent visit to Korea, I came to the clinic because I was interested in regenerative treatment for lower back pain. After the necessary evaluation and a thorough consultation, I decided to proceed with the procedure. Dr. Kim never pressured me at any point and took plenty of time to explain the treatment in detail until I felt fully informed and comfortable moving forward. The facilities and equipment were excellent, and the physical therapists and specialized staff members were professional, knowledgeable, and very responsive to questions.

Too little discussion to characterise

Reddit has no discussion of this clinic. Searches for Nucellin and for the Seoul Ortho Clinic name returned no posts and no comments that name it. There is no patient feedback on Reddit to summarise, so the silence should not be read as either a good or a bad signal.

Director

MD, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Kim read medicine at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Sinchon and did his orthopedic residency at Yonsei University Severance Hospital, where he later worked as a clinical professor of joint surgery. He belongs to the Korean Orthopaedic Association, the Korean Arthroscopy Society, the Korean Knee Society, the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society, the Korean Society for Stem Cell Therapy and the Korean Association for Regenerative Medicine, and has trained through cadaver workshops and international arthroscopy courses. He sees every patient himself, which is the trade-off of a one-doctor clinic: continuity, but a limited diary.
