About Hope Biosciences

Hope Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical company and cell bank at 16700 Creek Bend Drive in Sugar Land, about twenty miles southwest of Houston. Donna Chang founded it in 2016. The company bought the building it occupies and won a $1 million performance incentive from the City of Sugar Land in January 2026. Inside are ISO 7 and ISO 8 cleanrooms run to cGMP standards under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and the company says it is the only clinical grade bank in the United States storing mesenchymal stem cells from both adults and newborns. What a member of the public can actually buy here is banking. About a tablespoon of fat from an adult, or the placenta and amniotic membrane after a birth, goes through a five to seven week culture process that builds a master cell bank the company expects to yield more than a thousand doses. Prices are published and identical for adults and newborns. One payment of $10,000 settles it, or you can pay $7,000 with $250 a year after that, or $3,950 with $500 a year. Samples are collected in the Greater Houston area and shipped in by kit from anywhere else in the country. Treatment is a separate matter and it is not for sale. Because the cultured cells are regulated as drug products, Hope Biosciences can release them only inside an FDA authorized study, and those run through the Hope Biosciences Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) founded in 2020 at the same address that charges patients nothing. Protocols have covered multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, post COVID syndrome, brain injury and Crohn's disease. The multiple sclerosis work is furthest along. A 24 patient Phase 2 of autologous HB-adMSCs met its primary endpoint in 2024, and in August 2025 the FDA granted the cells RMAT designation for relapsing remitting MS. All of it remains investigational and none of it is FDA approved.

  • cGMP manufacturing plant and cell bank at 16700 Creek Bend Drive in Sugar Land, west of Houston
  • Banks pure mesenchymal stem cells from adult fat and from newborn placenta, not cord blood
  • Banking prices are published and run from $3,950 to $10,000 depending on the plan
  • Cells are released only inside FDA authorized studies, so there is no treatment to buy
  • FDA granted RMAT designation to HB-adMSCs for relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in August 2025
  • Studies run through the nonprofit Hope Biosciences Research Foundation at no cost to patients

Typical range

$3,950 to $10,000

Banking is the only thing with a published price. One programme, three payment plans, the same for adults and newborns. $10,000 once, or $7,000 plus $250 a year, or $3,950 plus $500 a year. Treatment is not sold. Cells are released only into FDA authorized studies run by the nonprofit Hope Biosciences Research Foundation, which states those studies cost patients nothing.

Pricing is indicative and set by each clinic. Confirm the final cost directly before treatment.

Google reviews

4.8out of 5 on Google from 17 ratings

A short listing, and almost every review is about the banking service rather than treatment, which matches what the company actually sells to the public. Reviewers describe the fat collection appointment as quick and well organised, and several frame the decision as insurance against a future diagnosis. Staff are named warmly.

Reddit discussion

Mostly positiveacross 5 threads

The most discussed clinic of this group. In r/covidlonghaulers a participant in the company's long COVID trial documented each infusion at length and posted readings showing improved oxygen saturation and blood pressure, while saying plainly they were not back to normal. Commenters mostly asked how to enrol. r/stemcells carries the traumatic brain injury results and a meeting with federal health officials. Tone is hopeful and closely followed rather than sceptical.
