About ThriveMD

ThriveMD runs two Colorado offices, one in Edwards in the Vail Valley and one in Centennial on the south side of Denver. The cell therapy side of the practice is orthopedic. Fat is taken from the patient's own abdomen by liposuction and bone marrow from the posterior iliac crest, then injected into knees, hips, shoulders, Achilles tendons, elbows and lumbar discs under live fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance. The clinic says its protocol is built on mesenchymal cells prepared from adipose tissue, what it calls the stromal vascular fraction, combined with bone marrow concentrate. Scott Brandt, M.D. started the practice in 2012 after moving full time to Vail, where he had been a part time resident since 2002. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and specialized in interventional pain management during his anesthesiology residency. Long Vu, D.O. is dual board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, and Bethany Summers, DNP covers internal medicine, women's health and hormones. Alongside the cell work the clinic runs a concierge longevity program: hormone replacement, the Galleri cancer blood screen, IV nutrients, hyperbaric oxygen, red light therapy, therapeutic plasma exchange and medical weight loss. Nothing is priced publicly. ThriveMD states that stem cell therapy is not covered by insurance and that the price per joint improves when several areas are treated in one visit, so the number comes out of a consultation. A procedure takes two to three hours under light oral sedation, and a booster injection follows roughly four weeks later, which may be PRP, bone marrow concentrate, placental exosomes or alpha 2 macroglobulin.

Experience

The stem cell treatment I had for my shoulder from Dr Brandt at Thrive far exceeded my expectations. Before the treatment I could barely do a single press-up and swimming even breaststroke was difficult. Now press ups are no problem and neither is swimming overarm. The increase in range of motion and decrease of discomfort in the shoulder started within about 2 weeks of the treatment and improved steadily over the next 6 months. Well worth it and they are very nice people too!

Experience

Dr Brandt and his team at Thrive md clinic are caring and professional. They have effectively treated bad spinal discs on both myself and well as my wife. If you can avoid risky surgeries with non invasive Stem cell treatment, why not.

In one 2021 r/stemcells thread a poster said they were booking consultations with ThriveMD and Regenexx for a herniated disc, but never reported going ahead, and no commenter described treatment there.
