About SottoPelle
SottoPelle is two things at once, and it helps to separate them before you book. One is a training and licensing company that certifies independent doctors elsewhere in the country to use its pellet dosing method, and it says plainly in its own footer that it neither endorses nor takes responsibility for those providers. The other is the clinic group that actually sees patients, which trades as Tutera Medical and runs four offices in Arizona: Scottsdale, Chandler, Glendale, and a Page office open one Monday morning a month. The Scottsdale suite is both the flagship clinic and the corporate address. Gino Tutera, a board-certified OB/GYN, came across pellet therapy in 1992 and spent the following decade replacing its standard one-size dose with an individualised calculation, which he put online in 2002. That calculator, now trademarked as Dosaggio, is the actual product: the company licenses it to outside practices for $265 to $495 a month, and it sets the dose for a patient in Scottsdale the same way it does for one at a certified practice in another state. The company says the platform is covered by six patents but publishes no patent numbers. Tutera died in 2015 and his widow CarolAnn Tutera, who is not a clinician, has run both companies since. The clinic side goes well beyond pellets. Testosterone injections, medically supervised weight loss including GLP-1 medication at around $450 a month, peptide therapy, IV drips and NAD+, ThermiVa radiofrequency for vaginal rejuvenation, and a full aesthetics menu of neurotoxins, fillers, microneedling and peels. There are three named hormone programmes, for women, men and transgender patients, and bloodwork runs through Sonora Quest. Two caveats worth carrying into a consultation. The pellets are compounded, and neither company's site says anywhere that compounded pellets are not FDA-approved, which is a notable omission given that ACOG, the Endocrine Society and the Menopause Society all advise using approved formulations where they exist. And the brand markets hormone therapy for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, dementia and traumatic brain injury, including a page aimed at former NFL players, without citing peer-reviewed evidence on those pages. SottoPelle does no stem cell or exosome work, and the PRP pages still on the site date from 2021 and 2022 and are no longer part of the menu.

There is no published price list, but the clinic's own membership maths discloses the numbers: an insertion runs $355 to $410 for women, who average about 3.5 a year, and $620 to $890 for men, who average two. GLP-1 weight loss is around $450 a month and red light therapy $49 a session. The Elevate membership is $49.99 or $99.99 a month on a 12-month commitment and buys discounts only, not treatment. Insurance, HSA and FSA policy is not stated anywhere, so ask.

Fired for continual errors, changing doctors without consent, and changing their rules based on their daily whim. I had one good doctor there who also ditched them. Poor customer service. The nurses treat you like a child. Go elsewhere.

I've been going to SotoPelle for years getting their bio-identical hormones. It has helped me a great deal both physically and mentally. My body lets me know when it's time to go to my next appointment. I can really feel a difference. Steve Nunn in the Chandler office is efficient, friendly and if I feel anything at all, it's just the pin prick from the numbing shot but most of the time I don't even feel that.
